Carolyn is a litigation lawyer who specialises in employment law. Her work in that area includes advice on restructuring, stress and health and safety claims, personal grievances and employment relationship problems, official information issues, privacy and negotiation with unions and other parties.
Carolyn regularly represents clients in employment disputes, at mediations and before the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court, and has taken appeals to the Court of Appeal. She has also conducted other litigation in the District and High Courts over matters such as family protection claims, franchise and breach of contract issues, building contracts and civil and family law matters.
Carolyn has been part of the firm since 1996, and prior to that she practised in Hamilton as a member of the litigation team at Tompkins Wake. She is a member of LEADR NZ and is a volunteer for both the Refugee and Migrant Service and the Wellington Community Law Centre.
